As in court proceedings, certain payments must be made to initiate and maintain arbitration proceedings. All payments made throughout the process, from the start to the conclusion of arbitration proceedings, are referred to as arbitration expenses. While court trial expenses include state fees—unlike arbitration—arbitration expenses include arbitrator fees, which do not exist in court trials. The arbitrator’s fee is clearly regulated in the legal frameworks governing arbitration, as well as in the rules of institutional arbitration centers. The arbitrator’s fee typically ranks high among the provisions regulating arbitration expenses. Therefore, in our opinion, the arbitrator’s fee is the most significant cost in arbitration proceedings. In our study, arbitrator fees will be examined within the framework of the Code of Civil Procedure, International Arbitration Act, and the rules of both national and international arbitration centers, such as the Istanbul Arbitration Center and the International Chamber of Commerce.…
