The International Automobile Federation (FIA) is the umbrella organization that brings together automobile clubs and associations, touring clubs and federations in countries for all types of motorsports and motoring activities. Bringing together 243 member organizations from 147 countries on five continents, the FIA is the regulatory body for all related activities on five continents. There are many regulations, practices and conflicts applied and solved within the FIA structure, which includes a large number of organizations and individuals. The dispute resolution mechanism, created by but independent of the FIA, plays an important role in the regulation of motoring, tourism and sport.
