3. Video Conferences

The expression ’video conferencing’(72) is the most commonly used term in international legal literature, referring to the discussed legal institution. It is based on video conferencing technology that enables two or more parties to see, hear and talk to each other in separate locations, but in real-time. The Hungarian legal background of these video conferences transacted from the courtrooms already appeared in the previous Hungarian Criminal Procedure Code (Act XIX of 1998) as so-called closed-circuit telecommunication network trials.(73)
