Cryptocurrencies have recently become an investor favorite asset in Turkey. However recent developments like closure of a cryptocurrency exchange and another one’s CEO’s alleged escape with crypto assets of the company and recent regulation on cryptocurrencies by Turkish Central Bank along with investor complaints for some time put cryptocurrencies in country’s spotlight. We tried to analyze legal nature of cryptocurrencies with reference to provisions of recent regulation and views in the literature and offered some remarks and suggestions regarding cryptocurrency exchanges at the dawn of planned legislation.…
