Abstract: Since Art. 818/1 of the TCC does not clearly attribute to Art. 689, discussions on the applicability of the provision on the pledge endorsement for the check have been raised. In our study, we examined firstly whether the open pledge endorsement can be made on check and the problems raised in the context of the pledge endorsement in check as far as we could determine. Within this scope, we discussed whether the alternative methods such as hidden pledge endorsement or fiduciary alienatory endorsement with the aim of pledge on check are possible and valid or not pursuant to the decisions of the Supreme Court of Appeal.
